The heart of the matter

Shipping the only preserved Blue Whale heart in the world. Kuehne + Nagel in Vancouver arranged the transport of a Blue Whale’s heart to Germany for preservation in 2015 and recently organized its return now plasticized to Canada, where it is being displayed at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, where it could last as long as 1,000 years. The shipment weighed 580 kg and shipping the largest heart of any living creature on earth required not only a large quantity of documentation, but also the utmost precaution throughout the transport chain.
