Orange UK renews and extends contract with Kuehne + Nagel

Orange UKhas renewed its contract with Kuehne + Nagel for a handset fulfilment and returns business, based at its Chipping Warden site. In addition, the company has been awarded the Orange UK Network business, which has transferred to the Kuehne + Nagel site based in Draycott-in-the-Clay, Derbyshire.

The network operation encompasses 149,000 sq ft, with 30 full time employees and involves support on new build/expansion, spares management and de-commissioned equipment, together with transport management to forward store locations. The Draycott site is the ideal location, having the ability to be flexible on space and labour to meet the changing customer requirements.

The solution offered by Kuehne + Nagel follows a significant commitment made by both parties into process improvement delivery and increased productivity, as well as a dedication to continuous enhancement and annual cost reductions.

“We are committed to working in partnership with Kuehne + Nagel, to help them deliver continued reliable and cost effective supply chain services and the implementation of a continuous improvement culture.” Said Mark Franklin, Orange Supply Chain Director. “Orangehas been impressed by Kuehne + Nagel’s scale and global reach and we look forward to new innovations and improvements during the course of the contract.”

The company has already worked with Orangefor more than ten years and this recent award demonstrates its ongoing commitment and expertise in this sector.

Peter Ulber, Chief Executive, Kuehne + Nagel North West Europe, comments, “We are delighted to be both renewing this contract and adding the Network Build business. With a lot of the major players in our customer portfolio already, Telecommunications is a key industry for Kuehne + Nagel.”
