Omron Healthcare selects Kuehne + Nagel to manage integrated North American distribution

Omron Healthcare Inc., a leading world brand in the personal home diagnostic industry, has selected Kuehne + Nagel to implement an integrated North American supply chain solution, including management of inbound international freight forwarding, warehousing and domestic transportation.

Vernon Hills, Ill.-based Omron Healthcare, a subsidiary of Omron Corp., Kyoto, Japan, chose Kuehne + Nagel for its ability to provide a broad warehouse network and transportation management to service its growing U.S. retail base.

Kuehne + Nagel will manage all aspects of the import transportation, U.S. customs brokerage, and container delivery to its multi-client distribution center in Alsip, Ill. All products will arrive for storage at the Kuehne + Nagel DC in seafreight containers, are then stored and distributed to retailers via truckload, less-than-truckload and parcel shipments.

In North America, Kuehne + Nagel provides an in-place network of more than 60 multi-client distribution centers with 14 million square feet of space for companies with a need for a high-performance, yet flexible distribution infrastructure. Its objective, non-asset-based approach to transportation management focuses on continuous improvement of carrier usage to reduce cycle time and cost, and carrier negotiation, audit, processing and payment across all modes.

In Contract Logistics, Kuehne + Nagel has comprehensive experience designing specialized solutions that help some of the world’s best-known pharmaceutical and healthcare companies meet their industry challenges.
