Kuehne+Nagel has received its first ESG Recognition from DNV, an independent global certification body. DNV introduced the recognition in 2025 to acknowledge companies with a structured and holistic approach to Environmental, Social and Governance management.

The recognition reflects that Kuehne+Nagel has certified management systems in place across environmental, social and governance topics under one ESG framework. These systems are evaluated using internationally recognised best practice standards, including those developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), applied and certified by DNV. This provides a structured approach for a company to continually manage and improve its performance across the dimensions.

For Ricardo Bernasconi, Global Head of QSHE at Kuehne+Nagel, the recognition strengthens credibility and trust with customers, partners and other stakeholders. It also highlights the efforts of colleagues across functions and countries to embed ESG principles into daily decision-making and operations through structured systems, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Taking an integrated approach across all three ESG dimensions also allows Kuehne+Nagel to support customers in achieving their own sustainability ambitions. As Christine Wiederkehr, Global Head of Sustainability at Kuehne+Nagel, notes, ESG is not a standalone initiative, but an integral part of how the company manages its business responsibly and sustainably.

“As expectations on credible ESG performance and communication grow, there is an increased need for companies to demonstrate how they work in reliable ways. The ESG Recognition was created for this purpose – to verify the use of certified management systems and thus help customers like Kuehne+Nagel build trust in their Environmental, Social and Governance commitment and performance,” says Massimo Berlin, Regional Manager Boost & Growth in DNV.
