Kuehne+Nagel win Leonardo’s Gold Service Excellence Award
United Kingdom – Kuehne+Nagel are delighted to receive the award for Service Excellence in Warehousing Logistics and the Single Site Logistics Hub project in Yeovil at the Leonardo UK 2022 Supplier Awards.
With just 26 awards globally presented, from Leonardo’s 8,000-strong supply chain, Kuehne+Nagel was one of the five winners to be recognised at the UK ceremony in Edinburgh.
Giacinto Carullo, Chief Procurement and Supply Chain Officer, Leonardo opened the ceremony by highlighting why cooperation and transparency are so important in the supply chain: so that shared challenges can be acknowledged and overcome, rather than being faced in isolation.
It is this ethos of working which led to Kuehne+Nagel winning the prestigious award.
In close collaboration with Leonardo, we have started – and continue – on a long-term journey to reduce our carbon footprint. The new Single Site Logistics facility is set to open shortly and features state-of-the-art green services that include LED Lighting, sustainable packaging, heat recovery, rainwater harvesting and an electric fleet.
Murray Gascoyne, Contract Logistics Director – UK shared: “Kuehne+Nagel continues to be proud of its role as a partner to Leonardo. As demands on suppliers advance, it’s important we partner with our customers to evolve, to provide an efficient supply chain service. And it’s crucial we do this in a way that addresses the different parameters that need to be adapted to become a greener, more sustainable business. We have a lasting commitment to Leonardo, and a shared purpose to create and sustain value across Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) areas, through our close collaboration. This warmly received award is very much a testament to it.”
Andy Brown, Procurement Director & Head of LGS UK “A company is only as strong as the weakest link in their supply chain. It’s important we all put positive resilience, combined with sustainability, first and ensure full supply chain transparency. With just 16 awards presented in Italy, five in the US and five at the ceremony in the UK, it’s a measure of how proud the Leonardo team, and our suppliers, like Kuehne+Nagel, should be to be selected amongst such fierce competition.
