Kuehne+Nagel releases 3-episode documentary, Where Next

Download

A first of its kind for the logistics industry, this documentary tells a story of resilience through the lens of semiconductors, global supply chains, and what it takes to build our collective future.

In an ambitious move to paint industry insight with strokes of supply chain storytelling, Kuehne+Nagel released its first-ever original documentary series this year: Where Next.

Produced with cinematic scope that is both entertaining and educational, Where Next takes its audience into the indispensable world of semiconductors. Those tiny components forming the backbone of modern life. Their supply chains reveal a fragility and complexity of our deeply interconnected systems.

But unlike most storylines about the semicon industry, this documentary shows what the industry offers in ways of collaborative and design thinking, ideas of resilience, and what kind of innovation is testing the integration of our systems where supply chains play a critical role.

“Only those who imagine where we can go next will be able to positively impact our global economy and society,” says Stefan Paul, CEO of Kuehne+Nagel, in his opening video introducing the series.

The series recently won Gold and Silver in four categories at Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards international film festival: Gold in Web Documentaries, Silver in Science/Technology/Innovation, Branded Documentaries, and Trailers & Teasers.

“Where Next is a way for the Kuehne+Nagel brand to show what it can do best: bringing people to the table, finding a way forward. This series is one of many platforms we are building for collaborative thinking. It’s a great achievement for our company to have this approach resonate with so many people, and now here at the world’s most renowned film capitals.” –Marc Strolz, Head of Brand at Kuehne+Nagel who accepted the awards on behalf of all who made this project possible.

About Where Next

Spanning three episodes, Where Next features experts like theoretical physicist and writer Dr. Yangyang Cheng, design visionary Brian Collins, public policy analyst Alexandra Helfgott, senior executives from the semiconductor and logistics sectors, and more. Their conversations are both urgent and open. The series takes a positive spin on some of the biggest obstacles we have experienced and are likely to encounter in the years to come. It shows how collaboration, curiosity, and long-term thinking can shape entire industries.

Where Next is the kind of supply chain storytelling that speaks to both business leaders and to just about anyone who is interested in what keeps us connected.

This documentary series leaves its audience with an idea: resilience is not in the same category as resistance. Resilience is not about getting back to how things were, but about bouncing forward to where we need to go.

The series is now live on YouTube and on the Kuehne+Nagel website, with season 2 already in the making and scheduled to be released in 2026.
