Kuehne+Nagel has inaugurated a new Tech Centre in Chennai, India, expanding its global engineering footprint and strengthening its ability to develop and scale proprietary digital logistics solutions.
Technology is increasingly shaping how global supply chains are planned, managed and optimised. As customers seek greater visibility, speed and resilience, along with an improved customer experience, the demand for digital logistics solutions continues to grow. Access to highly skilled engineering talent is therefore essential to delivering Kuehne+Nagel’s technology strategy.
India has become a leading global hub for engineering and digital talent, making it a natural location for Kuehne+Nagel’s continued technology investments. Chennai was selected for its established business ecosystem and proven track record in supporting global operations. The new Tech Centre complements Kuehne+Nagel's existing global technology footprint.
By early 2027, around 250 experts in Chennai will contribute to the development and advancement of global products such as SALOG, Kuehne+Nagel’s core digital forwarding platform for managing sea and air freight shipments worldwide. To accelerate the launch and scaling of the centre, Kuehne+Nagel is working with Accenture to support the build-up of the workforce.
Christina Raab, Market Unit Lead Central and Eastern Europe at Accenture, says: “The launch of Kuehne+Nagel’s Tech Centre in Chennai reflects the strength of our strategic partnership. By combining our technology and operational capabilities with local talent, we are helping build a strong foundation for the centre to scale and support Kuehne+Nagel’s future growth.”
Marcus Claesson, Chief Information Officer at Kuehne+Nagel, says: “Technology and digital capabilities have become a key differentiator in logistics. Developing our core platforms in-house allows us to innovate faster, scale globally, and continuously improve the customer experience. The new Chennai Tech Centre strengthens our engineering capabilities and supports the next generation of digital logistics solutions.”
