Kuehne + Nagel wins award for Supply Chain Excellence

Kuehne + Nagel has been recognised for achieving excellence in its Supply Chain operation for a key customer in the aviation engineering sector.

The IFW Award for Supply Chain Excellence 2007 was presented to the company at a prestigious ceremony in London last week. Kuehne + Nagel won the award on the strength of a reliable, cost-effective, ontime solution to meet its customer’s airfreight requirements. Working within the framework of the Cargo 2000 phase 2 accreditation, Kuehne + Nagel ensured proactive management of all the customer’s consignments and provided total visibility throughout the entire supply chain. The transparency offered by Kuehne + Nagel’s online visibility tool, KN Login, which allows the client to view the Cargo 2000 route map for each consignment, was a key highlight.

The judging panel concluded, “In an industry where any delays result in significant cost penalties and operational complications, the company has developed a proactive collaborative process in order to ensure that aircraft parts are in the right place at the right time. Kuehne + Nagel has brought true visibility to the supply chain, giving clients more control and demonstrating clear competitive advantage.”

Peter Ulber, Chief Executive of Kuehne + Nagel, North West Europe, said “I am honoured that the IFW panel selected Kuehne + Nagel for this award and we will continue to innovate in this area to provide the best solutions for our airfreight customers.”
