Kuehne + Nagel to manage U.S. DC operations, international transportation segments for DIRECTV

Kuehne + Nagel will provide logistics services for DIRECTV, Inc., that include optimizing and managing DIRECTV’s U.S. warehousing (DC) operations and segments of inbound international transportation.

As part of an extensive supply chain initiative during the past year, DIRECTV sought to align itself with a logistics services provider to help turn its logistics into a competitive advantage and reduce costs. “Our significant growth and the need to continuously improve our supply chain logistics to better serve our customers led us to Kuehne + Nagel,” said Tom McGeorge, Vice President, Supply Chain, DIRECTV, Inc.

Kuehne + Nagel’s network optimization is resulting in consolidation into 600,000 square feet of distribution space across three facilities in California, Georgia and Pennsylvania.

DIRECTV, Inc. is the nation’s leading digital television service provider with more than 15.4 million customers in the United States.

In North America, Kuehne + Nagel provides an in-place network of 57 dedicated and multi-client distribution centers with 14 million square feet of space for companies that require a high-performance, flexible distribution infrastructure.
