Kuehne + Nagel signs ten-year contract with Britvic

Britvic Soft Drinks has awarded KN Drinks Logistics, the drinks distribution arm of global logistics provider, Kuehne + Nagel a ten-year contract to carry out secondary distribution and vending machine replenishment services throughout the UK.

Britvic Soft Drinks is one of the leading branded soft drinks businesses in Great Britain, with brands such as Pepsi, Robinsons, Tango and J2O. The company has taken the decision to fully outsource its secondary retail distribution and full service vending operations to KN Drinks Logistics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Kuehne + Nagel and specialist logistics provider to the drinks industry. Under the terms of the new agreement, the secondary retail and full service vending networks have been absorbed into the KN Drinks Logistics distribution network, with the respective employees transferring to Kuehne + Nagel under TUPE.

The new contract will see KN Drinks Logistics undertake deliveries of Britvic soft drinks to pubs, bars and food service outlets across the country, along with the replenishment of 10,000 vending machines; an operation which requires the use of a specialised fleet of vehicles, drivers and telemetry. In addition, warehousing services for Britvic products will be provided within the KN Drinks Logistics shared-user environment.
