Kuehne + Nagel provides warehousing for ICI Paints Deco

ICI Paints, a leading manufacturer of paint and decorative product brands, has contracted Kuehne + Nagel to provide warehousing services for ICI’s Austrian sales market. The new Kuehne + Nagel facility, located on the outskirts of Vienna, is specially equipped to meet the requirements of this industry.

Under the three-year agreement, which was implemented at the beginning of this year, Kuehne + Nagel is providing warehousing and picking, as well as value-added services such as re-labelling and repacking. It has dedicated 5,000 sqm to these operations.

The 10,000 sqm facility leased for this business has been adapted and equipped with state-of-the-art information technology and is fully certified for the storage and handling of dangerous goods, pressurised containers, and substances hazardous to water.

The provision of such services further requires superbly trained staff and elaborate operational processes. Karl Meyer, Kuehne + Nagel’s Vienna District Manager, was delighted about the contract award, as well as the new facility. “I am proud that our contract logistics team has succeeded in meeting ICI’s high selection criteria. According to the customer, our proven implementation knowledge, organisational and quality management processes were key factors in their decision making process. The commissioning of the new facility sees us adding a new field of business to our contract logistics activities in the Vienna region.”

Besides the new terminal, Kuehne + Nagel operates two further facilities in Greater Vienna: a warehouse (30,000 pallet positions) dedicated to the fast moving consumer goods market, and a facility (25,000 sqm) geared to consumer electronics.
