Kuehne + Nagel provides retail logistics services for C&A

C&A, one of the world’s leading fashion and apparel manufacturers, has extended its partnership with Kuehne + Nagel which started in 2006. According to the agreement, Kuehne + Nagel will continue to handle the customer’s retail logistics which includes quality inspections as well as intercontinental seafreight and airfreight services.

Kuehne + Nagel is handling C&A’s flat packed and garment-on-hanger shipments from factories in south, central and north China. Furthermore, the company carries out quality inspections according to the customer’s requirements. For this reason, integrated quality inspection centres have been set-up recently at the Kuehne + Nagel CFS facilities in Yantian, Shanghai, Tianjin and Dalian, where the company offers seafreight consolidation services to Europe. Kuehne + Nagel is also in charge of C&A’s airfreight shipments via the gateways in Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing to the retailer’s distribution centers in Germany.

“Kuehne + Nagel has proven its special know-how in retail logistics and its dedicated team ensures a smooth and professional implementation of the logistics solutions vital for our business,” commented Patrick Rupprecht, Coordinating Manager Central Logistics, Overseas & European Transport, Customs and CCR of C&A.

“We are delighted to have been entrusted by C&A. The extended partnership shows clearly that we generate added value for the customer’s logistics processes,” said Andy Weber, President of Kuehne + Nagel (Asia Pacific) Management Pte. Ltd.
