Kuehne + Nagel opens office in the Dominican Republic

With the opening of a first office in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Kuehne + Nagel extends its network in the Caribbean.

Over the last two decades the Dominican Republic developed into one of the fastest growing economies in Latin America. Due to its favourable geographical position, the country has positioned itself as a strategic location for imports and exports with short transit times, especially in the north and southbound trades. With this the demand for state-of-the art logistics services constantly increased.

In Santo Domingo, Kuehne + Nagel will provide the full product and service range in sea- and airfreight as well as tailor-made solutions for industry sectors including pharma, perishables and consumer goods.

“We are proud to open our first office in the Dominican Republic, which is another important cornerstone in Kuehne + Nagel’s Caribbean network. We are confident that under the stable economic conditions we will quickly expand” said Eduardo Steigerwald, Managing Director of Kuehne + Nagel in the Caribbean, Central America and Venezuela, at the official inauguration.

“The strong free zones incentives in combination with various trade agreements in place make the Dominican Republic an interesting market. For the constantly growing number of internationally companies operating on the island, it is our goal to make Kuehne + Nagel the logistics provider of choice”, added Reto Malfatti, President of Kuehne + Nagel in South & Central America.
