Kuehne + Nagel opens new airfreight facility at Schiphol Airport

Kuehne + Nagel has today officially opened a new facility at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport. Airfreight services will be dedicated to perishables and other niche industries.

The new location complements Kuehne + Nagel's airfreight operations in Nieuw Vennep, close to Schiphol airport and dedicated to regular airfreight shipments, as well as the Aalsmeer branch, which focuses on the worldwide transport of flowers and bulbs.

Located on the airport's premises, the new building features 3,500 sqm of logistics space and 800 sqm of office space. The focus is on perishable logistics and niche industries such as ship spares, aviation, and oil & energy. Activities provided include cross docking, picking, packing, quality checking and inventory management services.

Guus van Leeuwen, Director Airfreight of Kuehne + Nagel N.V.: "The opening of this facility is proof of our strong development in the Dutch air cargo market. By bringing together our offering for selected niche markets under one roof we will be able to benefit from synergies and further improve the service to our customers."
