Kuehne + Nagel named “Global 3PL of the Year”

Kuehne + Nagel has been named “Global Third-Party Logistics Provider of the Year” at the Supply Chain Logistics Awards 2008 event held in Shanghai on November 20. The honour recognises Kuehne + Nagel’s excellence in offering industry-leading integrated logistics in the Asia Pacific region and worldwide.

In judging the award, a number of criteria are taken into account, including the ability to understand the business needs of customers; the scope of warehouse and transportation networks; IT and technology skills; the level of visibility across the supply chain; customer service standards; the range of value-added services; and products and services which have been launched or upgraded in the past twelve months.

“We are honoured to receive this prestigious title. To effectively support our customers in meeting their day-to-day logistics challenges, we will continue to invest in our warehousing, distribution and lead logistics capabilities. We will also further enhance our portfolio of services through innovative product development and process optimisation,” commented Andy Weber, Managing Director of Kuehne + Nagel (Asia Pacific) Management Ltd.

Organised by Supply Chain Asia magazine, one of the leading logistics and supply chain publications, the annual awards ceremony aims to acknowledge leaders in Asia’s logistics and supply chain arena. Finalists in the 18 categories are chosen by an audited ballot of the readership of Supply Chain Asia Magazine and its internet portal. An independent panel of judges then selects the winners.
