Kuehne + Nagel manages inbound supply chain for Woolworths Limited

Woolworths Limited, the largest retailer of grocery, general merchandise and consumer electronics in Australia and New Zealand, has chosen Kuehne + Nagel as the exclusive provider for their global order management.

Under the three-year contract Kuehne + Nagel will be responsible for the global order management of Woolworths Limited’s entire international sourcing utilising Kuehne + Nagel’s Order Management Solution. In addition, the contract includes freight management from the export regions Europe, Middle East, Africa, South East Asia, the Americas and Oceania with value-added consolidation services in the large LCL areas Bangkok, Naples, Northern Europe and Australia.

The partnership will benefit Woolworths with seamless integration of its suppliers across its international supply chain. Kuehne + Nagel’s Order Management Solution, actively supported by the award-winning KN Login application, provides Woolworths Limited with web-based visibility and reporting including interfaces from other service providers. KN Login drives efficiencies through a single platform and enables standardisation of the retailer’s logistics operations worldwide.

“Woolworths Limited looks forward to leveraging both the expansive Kuehne + Nagel network and KN Login, which will provide us with cross-divisional visibility of our suppliers’ and service providers’ performance to drive greater efficiency throughout our international supply chain,“ said Ian McDonald, Woolworths Limited’s General Manager of Global Sourcing.

“The new partnership is a further example demonstrating that Kuehne + Nagel is clearly the leading provider of fully integrated supply chain management solutions,” commented Jens Pohlmann, National Manager of Kuehne + Nagel Australia. “We are excited about this opportunity to partner with Woolworths Limited, allowing Kuehne + Nagel to add value to their supply chain with our state-of-the-art solutions, dedicated staff and customised services.”
