Kuehne + Nagel Ireland named "Logistics Company of the Year 2007"

Global logistics provider Kuehne + Nagel has been awarded the title of “Logistics Company of the Year” at the Irish Export Industry Awards 2007.

The award, which recognises excellence in the provision of logistics and supply chain management, was presented to Kuehne + Nagel by Mr Micheal Martin TD, Ireland's Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, and Mr Joe Lynch, President of the Irish Exporters Association (IEA) at a prestigious ceremony in Dublin.

Kuehne + Nagel demonstrated to the judges that the company's innovative and progressive approach to meeting the supply chain needs of its customers in Ireland, particularly in the life sciences sector but also across other industry sectors such as high-tech and FMCG, placed it firmly ahead of the competition. For example, Kuehne + Nagel recently completed Good Distribution Practice (GDP) training for all key staff within the Irish organisation ensuring that the company's services comply with the highest standards of quality for handling pharmaceuticals, and thus can provide a seamless route to market for what is one of Ireland's principal export industries.

On receiving the award, Marcus Bennett, Managing Director, Kuehne + Nagel Ireland said, "This award is a real tribute to the Kuehne + Nagel team here in Ireland and a welcome recognition for all the hard work carried out over the past year. The company has invested significantly in developing a solutions-based business model to benefit our customers, and I am delighted that the panel chose to recognise our achievements in this area."
