Kuehne & Nagel completes acquisition of CAT Overseas Logistics

On March 1, 2004, Kuehne & Nagel closed the acquisition of the Overseas Logistics Division of CAT Group as planned.

Kuehne & Nagel has received approval from the French antitrust authorities for its acquisition of CAT Group’s Overseas Logistics Division. The transaction was originally announced on January 21, 2004.

CAT Group’s forwarding unit encompasses air and seafreight, customs clearance and international project business. In addition to the Renault Group, suppliers to the automotive industry count among the customer base.

The full integration of all CAT operations, current businesses and contracts as well as around 80 CAT staff into the respective Kuehne & Nagel national companies is underway.

Jacques Petit, former Managing Director, CAT Overseas Logistics, has assumed the position as Automotive Development Director for Kuehne & Nagel in France. In this role, he will be responsible for the further development of Kuehne & Nagel’s logistics services for the automotive industry in France and act as key account manager for the Renault-Nissan account worldwide. Initially, he will also be responsible for the seamless integration of the CAT Overseas Logistics Division into Kuehne & Nagel operations.

This integration leverages Kuehne & Nagel’s global logistics network, especially within the French automotive industry. Customers will take advantage of the company’s industry-specific know-how in combination with its global network and sophisticated information logistics products.
