Kuehne + Nagel and Coesia Group recognised for supply chain innovation
event in Milan for a new supply chain visibility and management solution.
Coesia, a group of innovation-based industrial solutions companies operating globally, recently set, among its objectives, to reduce complexity, centralise and control logistics costs, and increase visibility across its entire supply chain operations.
Working in closecollaboration, global logistics provider Kuehne + Nagel and Coesia Group successfully implemented a new supply chain visibility and management solution encompassing all multi-modal flows (air, sea and road freight) as well as contract logistics activity. Thanks to advanced and tailor-made reporting activities which provide specific details per division, Coesia Group has achieved its aims of increased process and operational efficiency as well as enhanced controlling.
Paolo Porfiri, Coesia Category Leader Indirect Purchasing, said: "Coesia had decided to launch a global RFQ in the end of 2014, in order to reduce the number of suppliers, to optimise the freight costs of its companies, and to strenghten the Group cost control, following our world-wide Indirect Cost Control Project."
Laura Peltonen, Coesia Category Buyer Indirect Purchasing, added: “Kuehne + Nagel was the winner of the tender, and has been able to implement, in addition to a specific often tailor-made service to our companies, also an accurate reporting system, which enables us to keep centralised control on the costs, as well as the shipment methods used. We
appreciate the partnership with Kuehne + Nagel."
The Logistics Award of the Year, initiated and organised by Assologistica, the leading Italian Logistics Association, acknowledges companies and managers for the introduction of innovations in the field of technologies, real estate, environment, transportation, globalisation of operations and training.
Paolo Guidi, Sales & Marketing Director, Kuehne + Nagel Italy, said: “This award is not only an acknowledgement of our capabilities; it motivates us to continue innovating and developing solutions that effectively support our customers in their day-to-day business challenges.”
