Kuehne + Nagel acquires the book of business of Speditøren A/S in Norway

Effective from 1 February 2007 Kuehne + Nagel has bought the book of business of Speditøren A/S, one of Norway’s leading customs clearance specialists.

The acquisition of the book of business of Speditøren A/S will allow Kuehne + Nagel to strengthen its competence in customs clearance in Norway. The company will now be able to offer in-house customs clearance expertise, and thus create a more streamlined service to customers.

Speditøren A/S was established in Oslo in 1983, and also provides warehousing, transport and logistics services. Managing Director of Speditøren A/S, Kjell Sigolsen, will become head of a new customs clearance department based at Kuehne + Nagel’s Oslo office. In addition, eight employees will transfer to Kuehne + Nagel.

Yngve Ruud, Managing Director Kuehne + Nagel A/S, said “This agreement enhances the portfolio of added-value services that Kuehne + Nagel is able to offer in Norway and reinforces our position as a preferred partner of choice for integrated logistics solutions.”

Both parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
