John Hextall named North America President

As of October 1, 2010, Kuehne + Nagel has appointed John Hextall as President of its North America Region. Hextall succeeds Rolf Altorfer, who steps down at his own request, and who will continue to serve Kuehne + Nagel in several key strategic project roles.

Reinhard Lange, CEO of Kuehne + Nagel International AG, said: "I am pleased that John Hextall has accepted the position as our Regional Manager of North America, and will continue developing this important region. I am confident that the region – which has seen significant growth under Rolf Altorfer’s leadership – will benefit from John Hextall’s logistics knowledge and broad management experience.”

John Hextall said: "I am excited to join Kuehne + Nagel and to be part of its skilled North American logistics team. We will continue to drive expansion through a variety of customer-focused programs under the company’s strategic growth plan.”

He joins Kuehne + Nagel after 17 years with UTi Worldwide Inc., most recently as Executive Vice President and President, Freight Forwarding, from 2008 to January 2010. While at UTi, he held various executive positions with responsibility for Asia Pacific, Greater China, Europe, Middle East, North Africa and the Americas regions. He holds a Bachelor of Science Combined Honors degree in transport planning and operations from Aston University, Birmingham, U.K.
