Global Cold Chain Training programme awarded

The globally operating Kuehne + Nagel Group has implemented a worldwide cold chain education programme for which the company recently received the “Life Science Logistic Partner of the Year 2012“-award.

When developing the programme, Kuehne + Nagel Switzerland worked closely together with a leading company from the pharmaceutical industry. Experts of the Swiss national Kuehne + Nagel organisation attended comprehensive cold chain trainings in the field of handling temperature sensitive pharmaceutical products across all modes of transport. Based on this know-how, the Kuehne + Nagel Group developed its own education concept with clearly defined industry specific standards and best practice (GxP) solutions. The use of the programme, which has been implemented throughout the worldwide Kuehne + Nagel Group, is mandatory. Furthermore, it is an important element for future-oriented airfreight products for the pharmaceutical industry, to be introduced globally by the Kuehne + Nagel Group shortly.

The “Life Science Logistic Partner of the Year 2012“ award was presented to Kuehne + Nagel at this year’s „IQPC Cool Chain Logistics Europe 2012“ (IQPC - International Quality & Productivity Center). Nomination criteria included – on the one hand - the impact of the solution on the industry and the realised benefits to the customer in terms of patient safety, risk reduction, process orientation and cost optimisation. On the other hand, communication, responsiveness, pro-active behavior and overall service levels as well as the commitment to the pursuit of excellence and industry best practice were significant factors for the nomination.
