"CI Multi-Regional Logistics Provider 2006" award for Kuehne + Nagel

At the first Containerisation International awards ceremony, Kuehne + Nagel was honoured with the “CI Multi-Regional Logistics Provider 2006” award in recognition of its innovation, strong performance and enhanced IT-based services.

Commemorating the first sailing of a containerised vessel 50 years ago from Newark, the ornate New York Public Library was chosen as location for the first annual Containerisation International (CI) awards ceremony, and hosted some 400 guests from the shipping and container industry.

“I am very happy to represent the company that our customers, the people who drive our industry, determined deserved this award”, commented Rolf Altorfer, President & CEO, Kuehne + Nagel, Inc. USA, Mexico and Central America. “This award is as much an incentive as an obligation for us to continually improve the standard of our services.”

Awards were offered in a variety of categories, and companies were short listed in recognition of their achievements and innovation in the sea freight & container industry. In the weeks leading up to the ceremony, CI had invited its international readership from the shipping, freight forwarding, ports and ship operator industries to cast their vote for each category.
