Carriers tribute to successful cooperation with Global Partner Kuehne + Nagel

Lufthansa Cargo is today naming a B747-200F freighter "Klaus-Michael Kühne". Kühne is President of the Board of Directors and major shareholder of Kuehne + Nagel, one of the world’s leading transport and logistics groups, employing about 20,000 people in 96 countries.

The naming ceremony is taking place at midday on the apron of Frankfurt Airport.

Since 1998, Kuehne + Nagel has been one of Lufthansa Cargo’s global partners and was also one of its biggest customers last year. By naming a freighter after Klaus-Michael Kühne, Lufthansa Cargo is underlining the value it attaches to cooperation between the two globally successful logistics groups. Klaus-Michael Kühne gladly accepted the tribute: "With Lufthansa Cargo, we have the right partner at our side, supporting our efforts to measure up to the high quality and service standards our customers expect. I am greatly honoured to have an aircraft in the Lufthansa Cargo fleet bearing my name."

Dr. Andreas Otto, Member of the Board of Lufthansa Cargo AG, added: "By electing to name a freighter after Klaus-Michael Kühne, we are thanking him for years of excellent cooperation and paying tribute to the services he has rendered the airfreight industry generally. In harness with our Global Partner Kuehne + Nagel, we will continue to set transport standards, worldwide, pursue innovation in the airfreight industry and develop best-practice logistics solutions for our customers."
