Bob Mihok appointed Regional Manager of new Eastern Europe Region

Effective 1 April 2008, Bob Mihok (47), who has been very successfully managing Kuehne + Nagel's organisation in South America since 2001, will take over responsibility for the company's operations in Eastern Europe.

Eastern Europe is one of the Kuehne + Nagel Group's key growth regions. To further maximise on the business potential in the local markets and create synergies, Kuehne + Nagel is merging its currently two regional organisations (Northeast Europe and Southeast Europe) into one.
The new Eastern Europe Region will comprise 21 countries: Albania, Austria, Belarus, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Ukraine. It will encompass 75 locations, more than 600,000 sqm of warehouse space and a staff of approximately 4,500. The regional headquarters will be in Vienna.

"By establishing the new Eastern Europe Region we are accommodating the dynamic development across the region and will be able to fully exploit synergy effects. We are convinced that under Bob Mihok's management our growth will accelerate further."

Bob Mihok's career with Kuehne + Nagel began in Basel, Switzerland in 1982. After assuming tasks in the US and Italy for several years, he in 1995 was appointed deputy head of seafreight in Asia Pacific. In 1998, Bob Mihok took over as National Manager of Kuehne + Nagel Indonesia, and in 2001 was promoted to CEO of the company's South American organisation.
