Klaus-Michael Kühne joined the family business Kuehne+Nagel in 1958 and became Chairman of the Management Board of Kuehne+Nagel Speditions-Aktiengesellschaft in 1966. From 1975, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Kuehne+Nagel International AG and from 1992 to 2011 as Chairman of its Board of Directors. Since 2011, he held the position of Honorary Chairman of the Board of Directors. Throughout his distinguished career, he played a pioneering role in shaping global trade and made a lasting contribution to modern logistics and the development of today’s global supply chains.

Kuehne+Nagel has invested in a new Container Freight Station (CFS) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Scheduled for completion in June 2027, the facility will provide more than 20,000 sqm of warehouse space, helping customers manage growing trade volumes and move goods more efficiently within Cambodia and across the region.

Cambodia continues to strengthen its trade infrastructure, with Phnom Penh Autonomous Port handling around 600,000 TEUs and Sihanoukville Autonomous Port approximately 1.3 million TEUs in 2025. Complementing this growth, the new CFS is strategically located near key transport gateways, including both ports, Phnom Penh International Airport and cross-border road links to Thailand and Vietnam, facilitating cargo movements across the country and supporting regional logistics operations.

David Roussiere, Managing Director, Thailand, Cambodia and Myanmar, Kuehne+Nagel, said: “This investment will more than triple our CFS capacity in Cambodia and strengthen our logistics capabilities in the country. Designed for cargo consolidation and handling operations, the new CFS will feature a raised-floor warehouse equipped with loading doors and dock levellers. It will offer a floor loading capacity of five tonnes per square metre and is expected to be certified to ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.

The facility will also incorporate sustainability features including solar panels, skylight roofing, LED lighting, battery-operated forklifts, water infiltration systems and rainwater management infrastructure.

The investment reflects Kuehne+Nagel’s continued focus on strengthening its logistics infrastructure in high-growth markets and supporting the expansion of regional and international trade.

Kuehne+Nagel has expanded its Cool Corridor network for temperature-sensitive healthcare logistics, adding four new routes between Frankfurt and Atlanta, Chicago and Narita, Brussels and São Paulo, and Chicago and São Paulo. The expansion increases the global reach of its network to 12 airfreight lanes connecting major healthcare and pharmaceutical hubs across Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America. The Frankfurt to Atlanta route strengthens the network with dedicated weekly capacity on Kuehne+Nagel's own Boeing 747-8 freighter, Inspire.

Designed for vaccines, peptides, biologics and other temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals, Cool Corridors are dedicated transport routes that combine GDP-compliant handling with tightly controlled transfer processes to minimise Time Out of Range (ToR) throughout the shipment journey.

Traditional cold chain shipments often depend on active containers with built-in cooling systems to manage the risk of temperature excursions. Cool Corridors take a different approach by establishing GDP-compliant, temperature-controlled airfreight lanes where Kuehne+Nagel, airlines, and ground handlers follow strict protocols and handling procedures to keep healthcare shipments within defined temperature ranges.

The Kuehne+Nagel Group delivered strong business performance in the second quarter of 2026. Net turnover increased by 8% year-over-year to CHF 6.6 billion (11% in constant currencies). EBIT rose by 11% to CHF 381 million (17% in constant currencies), while earnings increased by 10% to CHF 276 million (15% in constant currencies). The Group’s conversion rate stood at 17%.

Based on the results of the first half of 2026, Kuehne+Nagel now expects recurring EBIT for the full year in the range of CHF 1.35 to 1.55 billion.
 

Sea Logistics

Net turnover in the business unit Sea Logistics amounted to CHF 2.2 billion in the second quarter of 2026, with EBIT reaching CHF 140 million. The conversion rate stood at 29%, representing a sequential improvement of four percentage points compared with the first quarter of 2026. Over the first half of 2026, container volumes totalled 2.1 million TEU.

The second quarter of 2026 was characterised by continued efficiency gains across the network and market share growth on the trade from Asia to Europe and to North America. Export business from Europe remained subdued due to weak economic conditions. Through disciplined cost management, Kuehne+Nagel partially offset this decline by reducing production costs.

Air Logistics

Net turnover in the business unit Air Logistics increased by 20% year-over-year to CHF 2.2 billion in the second quarter of 2026, while EBIT rose by 35% to CHF 154 million. The conversion rate stood at 31%. Air freight volumes amounted to 1.1 million tonnes in the first half of 2026.

Performance was primarily driven by improvements in customer portfolio mix and market share gains, particularly in the tech sector. At the same time, Kuehne+Nagel further strengthened its position in end-to-end logistics solutions, for example through the transportation of cloud infrastructure equipment for Google from Asia to the United States.

Road Logistics

Net turnover in the business unit Road Logistics increased by 14% to CHF 1.0 billion in the second quarter of 2026, while EBIT rose by 29% to CHF 36 million. The business unit gained market share across all regions. In particular, customs brokerage services made a positive contribution to the business.

On May 1, 2026, Søren Schmidt, a recognised industry leader, took up responsibility for Kuehne+Nagel’s global Road Logistics business.

Contract Logistics

Net turnover in the business unit Contract Logistics increased by 2% to CHF 1.2 billion in the second quarter of 2026, while EBIT rose by 21% to CHF 51 million.

In the first half of 2026, Kuehne+Nagel Contract Logistics secured significant business from customers in the tech sector. In total, new warehouse space dedicated to cloud providers will exceed 300,000 sqm.

In light of the positive business development and our further strengthened market position, we are raising our earnings guidance for the full year 2026.”

Within this environment, medication handling remains a critical and highly regulated function. Medications must be prepared accurately and safely, with full compliance to labelling, traceability and expiry requirements. At the same time, operational steps such as sorting bulk medication, repacking into single-use formats, labelling, barcoding and quality checks are labour-intensive, placing pressure on space, manpower and time within healthcare institutions.

Through ongoing engagement with healthcare partners, it became clear that these operational demands were increasingly difficult to manage within healthcare institutions, particularly as patient volumes continued to rise and workforce pressures persisted.

Supporting medication workflows beyond hospital settings
As healthcare providers looked for ways to manage these operational demands while maintaining the required quality, safety and regulatory standards, there was a need for additional capacity to support medication preparation.

To address this need, Kuehne+Nagel expanded its existing healthcare logistics operations in Singapore to support medication repackaging and labelling activities within a controlled environment outside healthcare institutions. The solution builds on healthcare logistics operations that have supported medication workflows in Singapore for many years, as well as established healthcare and pharmaceutical operations supported by GMP-compliant facilities, specialised infrastructure and trained personnel, including qualified pharmacists and dedicated quality teams.

All repackaging and labelling activities are carried out in licensed, clean and controlled premises under pharmacist supervision. Processes are governed by robust quality systems that support accurate labelling, expiry management and full traceability, helping to maintain patient safety and regulatory compliance.

Reducing operational burden to protect clinical time
Today, these healthcare logistics operations are conducted at scale, with more than 20 dedicated production stations supporting medication packaging activities across both ambient (15°C to 25°C) and cold chain (2°C to 8°C) conditions. This dedicated capacity helps reduce the operational burden on healthcare facilities, where such activities are typically carried out by small pharmacy teams alongside their clinical responsibilities.

Preparing medications in unit dose repackaging formats can support a range of care delivery models. While the current focus is on supporting hospital operations, the approach may also offer opportunities to support community-based and home-centred care models in the future, where appropriate and subject to relevant requirements and quality controls.

For healthcare providers, the impact is practical. Medication packaging outside of their healthcare institutions reduce pressure on limited onsite space, provides access to compliant infrastructure with built-in resilience, and allows capacity to be adjusted in line with changing demand without significant additional investment. Most importantly, it helps protect the time of pharmacists, nurses and clinicians, allowing them to focus on patient care and clinical responsibilities.

A support role within a changing healthcare landscape
As Singapore continues to strengthen preventive care and support healthier ageing, reducing operational burden plays an important role in sustaining the healthcare system. By combining healthcare logistics expertise, GMP-compliant operations and dedicated quality oversight, Kuehne+Nagel supports safe and reliable medication workflows that help healthcare institutions manage growing demand while allowing pharmacists, nurses and clinicians to focus on patient care.

Kuehne+Nagel is advancing its digital capabilities in Contract Logistics through the evolution of KN SwiftLOG, its warehouse management system, into a cloud-native platform with agentic AI capabilities. 

Spanning more than 1,000 sites in close to 100 countries, the deployment represents one of the most extensive transformations of warehouse operations in the logistics industry. 

To support this transformation, the platform is built on Blue Yonder’s Warehouse Management Solution, part of the company’s Cognitive Solutions. This brings KN SwiftLOG into a unified, cloud-based environment while continuing as Kuehne+Nagel’s established warehouse management system. 

The global roll-out began in April 2026 and is being implemented in phases to ensure continuity of service. As deployment progresses, it enables scaling across operations and helps manage increasing supply chain complexity and evolving customer requirements.

The platform lays the foundation for more efficient and coordinated operations across the network, connecting warehouse activities with data-driven insights and intelligent automation. This enables more accurate planning, clearer visibility, and faster responses to disruptions.  

For customers, this translates to consistent execution across locations while maintaining the stable operations they experience today. Moving to a single cloud-based platform supports more standardised processes across sites, helping to align operations for customers served in multiple countries. The first customer deployment is planned to go live in Asia in July 2026.

Kuehne+Nagel and Mondadori Group inaugurated a new 40,000 sqm fulfilment centre in San Giorgio Bigarello, in the province of Mantova. The facility is Italy’s largest logistics hub dedicated to educational publishing, supporting the efficient distribution of learning materials to schools, educators and students across the country.

Developed and operated by Kuehne+Nagel, the new fulfilment centre brings together activities previously managed across three locations. The hub also serves Mondadori Group’s educational and retail publishing business, including bookstores, e-commerce and direct-to-consumer channels. It reflects the growing importance of all-in-one logistics solutions to support the evolution of the publishing market.

By centralising operations, increasing inventory visibility and omnichannel capabilities, the new facility helps Mondadori Group respond more efficiently to changing customer expectations while ensuring reliable distribution of educational materials across Italy. The highly seasonal nature of educational publishing demands precise planning and execution to ensure learning materials reach schools when they are needed.

The facility became fully operational in June 2026, following a phased transition, ensuring uninterrupted service throughout the implementation process. Innovation and sustainability were central to its design. The LEED Gold-certified site incorporates renewable energy solutions, energy-efficient lighting, CO₂ emissions monitoring systems and sustainable packaging measures, supporting both operational and environmental excellence.

The hub also leverages Kuehne+Nagel’s expertise in managing complex distribution networks and its ongoing investments in technology, automation and innovation.

In the ordinary course of financing, Kuehne+Nagel International AG today issued two bonds.

The proceeds of both bonds will be used for financing or refinancing of existing indebtedness and general corporate purposes, including the repayment of credit facilities.

The first bond has a fixed coupon of 0.819% and a tenor of three years four months, maturing on November 2, 2029.

The second bond has a fixed coupon of 1.090% and a tenor of six years four months, maturing on November 2, 2032.

Admission to the first cohort was limited to 36 participants, highlighting the company’s strong governance framework and its positioning within a highly demanding regulatory landscape. CONFIA establishes a structured approach centred on risk oversight, disclosure practices and continuous engagement with authorities.

Through this participation, the local organisation is engaging in a joint agenda that includes dialogue on Brazil’s upcoming fiscal changes, a wide-ranging transformation expected to influence corporate operations across the country over the next decade.

Kuehne+Nagel is collaborating with Google to support the reduction of air freight emissions through the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for Google Cloud’s shipments in 2026. This reinforces both companies’ commitment to advancing sustainable logistics.

The agreement, totaling up to 5.2 million litres of SAF, covers a key set of Google Cloud’s infrastructure shipments, representing a reduction of up to 12,600 tonnes of CO₂e emissions. The agreement serves as a pilot for future collaboration.

SAF is produced from renewable resources that are considered waste, residues or by-products, such as used cooking oil and tallow, and can reduce lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions from air transportation by around 80% compared to fossil-based jet fuel. SAF is a key lever for the aviation sector to reduce emissions.

Kuehne+Nagel offers its customers the opportunity to lower their scope 3 emissions through its SAF certification programme. The programme meets strict sustainability requirements while simplifying the process for customers worldwide and contributes to the accelerated scaling of global demand for SAF.

By investing together in sustainability, Google Cloud and Kuehne+Nagel reinforce a long-term dedication to increasing demand for SAF and supporting the transition toward lower-emission air freight operations.

Kuehne+Nagel has expanded its own-controlled air freight network with the addition of Frankfurt to its Inspire aircraft rotation, strengthening connectivity between North America, Europe and Asia.

As Europe’s leading air cargo hub, Frankfurt handles around 2 million tonnes of cargo annually and plays a central role in the movement of high-value and time-sensitive goods. Its inclusion in the Inspire rotation further strengthens key trade flows between Europe and North America.

The updated rotation now includes a weekly routing from Chicago to Frankfurt, continuing to Atlanta. The connection directly links Frankfurt and Chicago, two major pharmaceutical production and distribution hubs, supporting the movement of time-sensitive healthcare shipments

Inspire is Kuehne+Nagel’s own controlled Boeing 747-8 freighter. The long-term charter is operated by Atlas Air. The Boeing 747-8F is the largest cargo plane manufactured by Boeing, with a cargo capacity of about 140 tonnes, enabling the transport of high-value and complex shipments across key global trade lanes.

Effective June 2026, the updated Inspire rotation enhances connectivity across key transatlantic and Asia-Europe trade lanes, linking Atlanta, Chicago, Frankfurt, Liège, Sharjah, and Taipei. The network is designed to support industries with high requirements on reliability and speed, including pharmaceuticals, aerospace, high-tech, semiconductors and cloud infrastructure shipments.

Kuehne+Nagel has received its first ESG Recognition from DNV, an independent global certification body. DNV introduced the recognition in 2025 to acknowledge companies with a structured and holistic approach to Environmental, Social and Governance management.

From July 1, 2026, the partnership will cover MCH Group’s exhibition venues at Messe Basel, Messe Zurich and Beaulieu Lausanne, together representing more than 182,000 square metres of exhibition space. Under the agreement, Kuehne+Nagel will provide comprehensive services for exhibitors and event organisers, including international shipping to and from event locations of exhibitors’ goods as well as on-site handling carried out in close coordination with all event partners.

MCH Group’s core business includes renowned platforms such as the Art Basel shows in Basel, Hong Kong, Paris, Miami Beach and Qatar, alongside major national exhibitions including Swissbau and Giardina. These events rely on meticulous logistics planning and coordination across venues, markets, and timelines. 

For Kuehne+Nagel’s Expo and Event Logistics team, the partnership reflects its focus on long‑term collaborations with leading organisers, supporting complex international events through reliable and time‑critical logistics solutions.

Kuehne+Nagel and Hapag-Lloyd are further strengthening their long-standing partnership and, for the first time, collaborating on emission-reduced ocean transport solutions. As part of this agreement, Kuehne+Nagel will utilize Hapag-Lloyd’s “Ship Green” product to reduce the carbon footprint of its ocean freight shipments.

The agreement marks an important milestone in the relationship between the two companies.  For the period from April to December 2026, approximately 3,300 TEU of cargo transported on the East Asia to North Europe trade lane will be covered under the agreement. Through the use of certified waste- and residue-based biofuels (SMF), the initiative is expected to avoid around 2,979 tonnes of CO₂e emissions on a well-to-wake basis.

The agreement is based on a book-and-claim chain-of-custody mechanism that allows customers to claim verified emission reductions, regardless of the physical fuel allocation to specific vessels or routes. Only emissions reductions from biofuel that has been used in Hapag-Lloyd's operated fleet is allocated to Kuehne+Nagel. This model enables scalable climate action, utilizing waste based biofuel as a bridge solution.

Both companies are committed to ambitious climate goals. Hapag-Lloyd aims to achieve net-zero fleet operations by 2045, while Kuehne+Nagel has committed to reaching net-zero emissions across the value chain by 2050. Offering sustainable logistic solutions to customers is a key lever to achieve these goals.

By working together and leveraging sustainable marine fuels and the book and claim approach, Kuehne+Nagel and Hapag-Lloyd are contributing to the shipping industry’s transition toward a more sustainable future and energy independence.

At today's Annual General Meeting of Kuehne+Nagel International AG, all proposals were approved by a large majority. Shareholders present at the meeting represented 77.37% of the issued shares.

The shareholders approved among others the status report, the financial statements, the consolidated financial statements, the annual financial statements for the 2025 business year as well as the distribution of a gross dividend of CHF 6.00 per registered share.

All persons proposed for re-election were confirmed for another term of office, and Dr. Joerg Wolle was confirmed as Chairman of the Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors thanks the shareholders for the trust they have placed in it.

Kuehne+Nagel has expanded its healthcare logistics footprint in India with the opening of a new temperature-controlled airfreight cross dock facility in Hyderabad. The investment strengthens the company’s ability to support the safe, compliant and reliable movement of healthcare products, in response to growing demand for specialised logistics solutions for pharmaceutical and medical shipments.

Hyderabad is a major centre for pharmaceutical manufacturing, contributing over 40 per cent of India’s active pharma ingredients and vaccine production. Strategically located within this ecosystem, Kuehne+Nagel’s new facility supports efficient handling and distribution while improving proximity to key customers and manufacturing sites.

The 248 sqm facility operates across dedicated temperature zones, including +2°C to +8°C and +15°C to +25°C. These controlled environments are designed to safeguard product integrity across a wide range of healthcare shipments. The site complies with Kuehne+Nagel’s global HealthChain quality standard, ensuring consistent GxP compliance across healthcare supply chains. With the addition of Hyderabad, Kuehne+Nagel now operates two HealthChain-certified facilities in India, following the launch of its Bengaluru Cool Zone facility in December 2025.

The Kuehne+Nagel Group generated a net turnover of CHF 5.6 billion in the first quarter of 2026. EBIT amounted to CHF 343 million and earnings to CHF 248 million. The Group’s conversion rate stood at 16%.

The cost-saving measures announced in October 2025 had a material impact on the first-quarter 2026 earnings. As a result, costs per unit were sustainably reduced.

As the markets continue to be volatile, our access to a global network and close collaboration with customers enable us to respond swiftly and flexibly to fast-changing conditions. This strength, combined with the current market dynamics and our consistent cost management, gives us confidence for the second quarter of 2026.”

Taken the results of the first quarter into consideration, Kuehne+Nagel now expects recurring 2026 group EBIT in a range of CHF 1.25 to 1.40 billion.

Sea Logistics

In the first quarter of 2026, Sea Logistics generated net turnover of CHF 1.9 billion and EBIT of CHF 113 million. The conversion rate stood at 25%. At the end of March 2026, volumes amounted to one million TEU.

The situation in the Middle East has led to increased service intensity in the first quarter of 2026. Volumes in the prior-year period (Q1 2025) had been exceptionally strong due to effects from customer front-loading related to “Liberation Day”.

Air Logistics

Air Logistics generated a net turnover of CHF 1.6 billion in the first quarter of 2026, with EBIT reaching CHF 111 million. The conversion rate amounted to 27%. At the end of March 2026, air freight volumes totaled 516,000 tonnes, showing a slightly positive development compared with the prior-year period.

Events in the Middle East led to a short-term tightening of air freight capacity, resulting in increased demand for charter solutions.

Road Logistics

In the first quarter of 2026, Road Logistics generated a net turnover of CHF 908 million and EBIT of CHF 25 million.

The business unit increased market share across all regions. Since the outbreak of the conflict in the Middle East, Kuehne+Nagel has also contributed to safeguarding regional supply chains by establishing land-bridges, for example through truck transport services from Saudi Arabia to the United Arab Emirates.

Contract Logistics

Contract Logistics generated a net turnover of CHF 1.2 billion in the first quarter of 2026, with EBIT amounting to CHF 94 million. A one-off positive result of CHF 35 million was recorded from the sale of a property in Germany.

Kuehne+Nagel opened new distribution centers in the Americas, the United Arab Emirates and Singapore.

Kuehne+Nagel and Casaideas have announced an expanded partnership in Chile, aimed at enhancing logistics capabilities supporting both e-commerce fulfilment and retail store replenishment for the national design brand.

The agreement resulted in the construction of a dedicated distribution centre for Casaideas, operated by Kuehne+Nagel. Since becoming operational in 2025, the new centre has already delivered strong performance, handling 34.8 million inbound units and distributing 24.7 million products to more than 40 Casaideas stores nationwide, with the final quarter of 2025 accounting for 33% of the annual total volume. E-commerce operations processed 953,000 units in 2025, fulfilling close to 190,000 customer orders.
